Frequently Asked Questions.
Q. What is the best way to send my tax information?
A. When sending us your information, keep all originals and send us only copies.
Some customers prefer to fax us their information. If you do this, be sure to include the number of pages you are sending so we can make sure we got everything.
Other customers prefer to scan their documents and email them to us. This is a good method if you don't have a lot of documents to send. Be sure to let us know in the body of the email how many attachments you have so we can make sure we got them all.
We have found that Priority mail with Delivery Confirmation is the best method for mailing to us. The post office has not lost anything that was sent to us with delivery confirmation. Express mail is much more expensive and often doesnt get here any sooner. UPS and Federal Express are also an option, but are more expensive than Priority mail.
Q. What do you mean by "Home Office"?
A: If you have an area in your home that you use exclusively for work (such as a desk to do paperwork, a storage area to store business materials, etc.), the IRS allows you to deduct the expenses for that area. That is why we ask for the square footage of your entire house and the square footage of the area you are using for work. You need to provide us with the expenses for the entire house and we will calculate the percentage of expenses for the work area based on your square footage.
Q. Does the IRS allow deduction for mileage driven to doctor's appointments?
